Canister filters and tank inhabitants?

ok im getting a used tank that is about 50gallon and has a canister filter was wondering how noisy they are because i never had one and its gone in my room also im puting 2 Tiger oscars in the tank with 2 bristle nose catfish recon i could put a couple gramies in there with them
