What guitar should I buy?

I am saving up for an Epiphone electric guitar. Right now I have a Squier Strat. I am trying to decide between buying an Epiphone G400 or an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. The Les Paul is more popular but I enjoy the look and sound of the G400. I like both but which one should I buy? Please help!
