The steering in my 05 chevy cobalt ls dosnt work...plzz answers if you have the slightest tought of why?

i bought the car salvage... it was hit on the left side pritty hard... wat are some posible reasons that it might not work.. plzzz i rilly need your help so the more answers the better... thank you :)
