Why don't we pursue alternative energy sources more, rather than drill, drill, drill....?

Alternative energy is in it's infancy stages yet, and not ready for the 'prime time.' Oil is tried and true and will continue to be the energy of choice for the next 10-20 years. Besides, we have more then enough oil for a while yet. It's time we start thinking about other sources of energy, but we have some time yet.
